Privacy notice

Your data should have a reason to be here.

This notice explains what AUTAVIQ uses, where it comes from, why it is needed, who it can be shared with, how long it is kept and the choices available to you.

Last updated 3 October 2026

Controlled pilot preparation

AUTAVIQ is being prepared for its first external pilot. The operating legal entity, postal address and public privacy/support contacts will be inserted before invited third-party pilot users are onboarded or any paid public launch begins.

1. Current pilot status and who this notice covers

AUTAVIQ is currently being prepared for a controlled external pilot. The operating legal entity, postal address and public privacy contact will be inserted into this notice before invited third-party pilot users are onboarded or any paid public launch begins.

This notice covers people using an AUTAVIQ vehicle account, people acting for an automotive business on the network, visitors who submit a business/network enquiry, and people whose details appear in a legitimate booking, quote, job, message or vehicle-history workflow.

2. Information AUTAVIQ may use

  • Account and contact information, such as email address and account identifiers.
  • Business contact and trading information supplied during an enquiry or onboarding.
  • Vehicle information, including registration, make/model, mileage and details connected to your account.
  • Official vehicle and MOT information returned from DVSA or another approved/authoritative source.
  • Bookings, service requests, quotes, approvals, jobs, service-history records, evidence, warranties and related messages.
  • Reviews, preferences, notification settings and choices about sharing vehicle history.
  • Operational, device and security information needed to protect accounts, prevent misuse and diagnose failures.
  • For a submitted business/network enquiry, a compact acquisition label such as source, medium, campaign and the AUTAVIQ landing path. AUTAVIQ does not retain the raw referrer URL or a page-by-page browsing-history trail for that attribution.

AUTAVIQ does not sell personal information to advertisers.

3. Where information comes from

Most information comes directly from you or from an automotive business you choose to deal with. Vehicle and MOT information can also come from official or authoritative sources such as DVSA. Service/history records may be created by the business carrying out the work, by you, or by an AUTAVIQ workflow that records a transaction, approval or decision.

4. Why AUTAVIQ uses information

Optional marketing, advertising or non-essential analytics will not be treated as part of account creation. Where consent is required, AUTAVIQ will ask for that choice separately before the relevant processing is activated.

5. Automotive businesses and data roles

A garage or other automotive business may be an independent controller for records it must keep about work it carried out. In other workflows AUTAVIQ may process information on that business's instructions. Before the first external garage pilot, the applicable data roles and processor/controller responsibilities will be recorded in the business pilot agreement and data schedule.

6. Who information can be shared with

Information is shared only where the workflow needs it. This can include the automotive business you choose or interact with, infrastructure and service providers operating AUTAVIQ on our behalf, professional advisers, payment providers when payments are enabled, and regulators or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is legally required.

AUTAVIQ does not expose private vehicle/account records to another customer simply because they know a vehicle registration. Any future social profile or registration-discovery feature will require explicit visibility controls before it is activated.

7. International transfers

Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, AUTAVIQ will use an appropriate UK transfer mechanism or other lawful safeguard. The final public processor/transfer information will be confirmed as part of pilot activation once the operating legal entity and supplier register are finalised.

8. How long information is kept

AUTAVIQ keeps information only for as long as the relevant purpose, legal obligation or record-keeping need requires. Retention differs by record type rather than using one blanket period.

  • Supported browser drafts expire after 24 hours and are not intended to store OTPs, credentials or payment tokens.
  • Unconverted network enquiries marked new or contacted are deleted after 12 months without an update.
  • Declined network enquiries are deleted after 90 days without an update.
  • Converted enquiries leave the prospect-only rule and follow the customer/onboarding record lifecycle.
  • Business work records may need to remain after an account-erasure request, but personal identifiers are removed or replaced where the business has a legitimate record-keeping obligation.

9. Account deletion and retained work records

Signed-in customers have account-data controls for export and deletion requests. The erasure workflow removes the AUTAVIQ account, de-identifies linked business records where appropriate, removes owner-created vehicle history and sharing settings, redacts sent message content, and removes personal vehicle identifiers where required.

Closing an AUTAVIQ account does not automatically erase a garage's legitimate work record. Where a business has a lawful reason to retain a booking, job, invoice or service record, that record can remain without continuing to identify it as an active AUTAVIQ account.

10. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and legal basis, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive your personal information, and to object to certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent. These rights are not absolute in every situation.

Signed-in users can begin with the export and deletion controls in the Account area. The public privacy contact will be inserted before external pilot onboarding. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

11. Cookies and storage on your device

AUTAVIQ uses essential browser storage for secure authentication/session continuity and, in supported workflows, short-lived draft recovery. See Cookies & storage for the current storage inventory and how it is used.

12. Reviews

Where AUTAVIQ publishes consumer reviews, the service distinguishes reviews linked to a genuine AUTAVIQ job/transaction from other review sources and applies the controls in the Review policy.

13. Changes to this notice

AUTAVIQ will update this notice when the service or processing changes. Material changes will be made before the affected feature is activated. The date at the top identifies the current published version.
