Terms of use

Clear rules for using AUTAVIQ.

These terms govern customer/driver use of AUTAVIQ during the controlled pilot and will continue to form the basis of the public customer terms as the service expands.

Last updated 3 October 2026

Controlled pilot preparation

AUTAVIQ is being prepared for its first external pilot. The operating legal entity, postal address and public privacy/support contacts will be inserted before invited third-party pilot users are onboarded or any paid public launch begins.

1. Current status and acceptance

AUTAVIQ is being prepared for a controlled external pilot. The operating legal entity, postal address and public support/privacy contacts will be inserted before invited third-party pilot users are onboarded or any paid public launch begins.

By creating or using an AUTAVIQ customer account after those details are activated, you agree to these Terms of Use. Automotive businesses joining the network are also subject to the separate Business terms or an agreed pilot/order form.

2. Accounts and secure access

You must use an email address or device credential you are authorised to control and take reasonable steps to keep access to that email account and device secure. Do not share a private account or business workspace with someone who is not authorised to use it.

AUTAVIQ may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, businesses, data or the service from suspected misuse, fraud or security risk.

3. Vehicle and MOT information

Vehicle and MOT information can include data supplied by you, an automotive business or an authoritative external source such as DVSA. AUTAVIQ identifies the source where it matters and does not intentionally present owner-entered or estimated information as an official record.

External information can be delayed, incomplete or temporarily unavailable. Do not rely on AUTAVIQ alone for a statutory deadline, legal status, roadworthiness decision or safety-critical judgment. Check the relevant official record and obtain an appropriate professional inspection where needed.

4. Vehicle intelligence and estimates

Diagnostics, likely-fault suggestions, maintenance prompts, cost ranges and similar vehicle intelligence are decision-support information rather than a guaranteed diagnosis, repair instruction or quotation. Actual faults and costs can only be confirmed by an appropriate inspection and the business carrying out the work.

5. Automotive businesses on the network

Garages, dealers, recovery operators, parts businesses and other automotive providers on AUTAVIQ are independent businesses unless a page expressly says otherwise. AUTAVIQ can provide the digital network, records, discovery, booking, quote, approval and messaging workflow, but the underlying automotive service or goods agreement may be between you and that business.

A business remains responsible for the work, goods, prices, warranties, representations and legal obligations that belong to it. AUTAVIQ records help make those interactions clearer; they do not turn AUTAVIQ into the mechanic, dealer, recovery operator or parts supplier.

6. Quotes, approvals, payments and records

Where the product asks you to approve a quote, additional spend or another decision, use the approval controls deliberately. A recorded approval may form part of the job history and can be relied on by the business carrying out the work.

A service-history record is not automatically a tax invoice, warranty or proof that a separate payment has settled. Where AUTAVIQ later enables deposits or payments, the price, payee, cancellation position and any applicable fees will be shown before payment is made.

7. Content, evidence and uploads

Only upload or submit information, images or documents you are entitled to use. You remain responsible for content you contribute and give AUTAVIQ the limited permission needed to store, process, display and protect it for the relevant product workflow.

Do not upload unlawful material, malware, confidential information you have no authority to disclose, or content that infringes another person's rights.

8. Reviews

Reviews must reflect a genuine experience. Fake reviews, undisclosed incentivised reviews, impersonation and manipulation of ratings are prohibited. AUTAVIQ's collection, verification, moderation and removal rules are explained in the Review policy.

9. Acceptable use

You must not misuse AUTAVIQ, including by attempting to:

  • gain access to another person's account, business workspace or private record without permission;
  • bypass security, role, MFA, rate-limit, privacy or approval controls;
  • scrape private data or use the service to build unauthorised profiles;
  • submit false service, sale, review, vehicle, ownership or evidence records;
  • use registration search or future profile/discovery features to harass, stalk or identify another person;
  • interfere with the availability, integrity or operation of the network.

10. Availability and changes

During the controlled pilot, features may be changed, paused or removed while AUTAVIQ is tested and hardened. AUTAVIQ aims to preserve legitimate records and communicate material changes, but the pilot service is not promised to be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Closing or suspending an account

You may request account deletion through the account controls. Some independent garage or transaction records may need to remain for legal, accounting, warranty, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes and can be retained without keeping them attached to your active AUTAVIQ account.

12. Liability and statutory rights

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights and liability for fraud. AUTAVIQ is not responsible for guaranteeing the workmanship, goods or independent professional judgment of a third-party automotive business merely because that business uses the network.

13. Privacy and storage

Use of personal information is explained in the Privacy notice. Essential cookies/browser storage are explained in Cookies & storage.

14. Changes to these terms

AUTAVIQ may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes affecting existing users will be communicated before they take effect where reasonably required. The date at the top identifies the current version.

15. Governing law

These terms are intended to be governed by the law of England and Wales. This does not remove mandatory rights you may have under the law that applies to you.

16. Legal identity and contact

The final operating legal entity, postal address and approved public support/privacy contacts will be inserted into AUTAVIQ's legal pages before external pilot onboarding or paid public launch. See Support for the current pilot support position.
